Organizing a trade show is not something you do in between business. Regardless of whether it is a trade fair or a public fair, it remains a challenge to transform a large empty fair location into a well-organized and pleasantly stimulating exhibition floor. And no matter whether the trade show is national or regional, organizing it on your own is actually impossible. There are so many aspects to consider and so many people with whom you have to maintain intensive contact, you can really use help. The extent to which you want to be able to call on a party to assist you depends on your own available time and, of course, on the knowledge and experience you have in organizing a trade or consumer fair. So you have to make an assessment of what you can do yourself and what you want help with.

These facts, taken from the national Trade Show Monitor, indicate that you, as a trade show organizer, can face future exhibitors, sponsors and visitors with confidence and hope. So start by creating a goal statement and a to-do list as the start of organizing your trade show event. Describe who your target audience is and how you want to approach them, what the objective of the trade show is and how you might achieve that objective. Then assemble a multidisciplinary project group.
